Volunteer
What we can offer you!
- New experiences, skills and insights! Perhaps you haven’t worked in a play setting before, or held a snake (not compulsory!), or helped children with learning difficulties create an arts and crafts masterpiece – with us you will!
- A chance to connect with new people and make new friends! We are a friendly bunch and as the 12 volunteers who helped build ‘the beach’ this summer (and then ate pizza with us on it) will tell you, we have a lot of fun together!
- A sense of accomplishment! At the end of a session with us you will be able to say that you made a positive difference to the holiday experience of local children.
- Career options! You will have the option to take part in playworker (and other) training and to try out lots of different roles e.g. helper, activity leader (if you want), committee member (join in the planning!) We can also give you a reference to take to college or an employer detailing your achievements.
Expenses
The work of CHIPS is critically dependent on the time given by volunteers. We are very grateful to the vast majority of volunteers for not only providing their time free, but also choosing to meet incidental expenses from within their own resources i.e. at no charge to CHIPS. You can download our full Download Volunteers Expenses Policy here.
